Blog Party, Summer 2007

I think it's time to have a party----Dave and I just got air-conditioning.

Of course, it would be so much better if the weather hadn't suddenly dropped to pre-April temperatures, but I do think I'll celebrate anyway.

A while back, I hosted a couple of Blog Parties; they were fun when they could have been scary, and I'm ready to do it again.

I'm going to randomly pick 20 words---you tell a story, with a theme and a logical clonclusion, any length, using these words in any order, but limit your composing time to an hour. I'll post your stories as the appetizers to our online bash and before we open the champagne, we'll take a vote on the winning story.

Here are the words to use in your story: (chosen from "Black Powder War" by Naomi Novik and "A Map of the World" by Jane Hamilton)

practical, shaggy, porcelain, dragon, approximate, explain, narrower, fountain, gyrate, exhaling, off-balance, angels, exaggerate, cotton, incriminate, afterward, moon, terror, ruptured, sickly.

You can either leave me a link in the comments section or e-mail me at Lorna_cr@hotmail.com.
I'll wait until Sunday the 24th to post again. Be sure to come back to vote.

Darn, I'm so tied up with this two week class in San Diego I don't have time to play. But I'll keep watch here to see what happens.

Blog party--great idea.

I came in a couple of days late, but here's mine. It took me maybe a hair over an hour and I used the words in the order provided. Check it here.
